Brazoria County, where Texas began, is a great place for birding and hunting.
Uniquely situated as a migratory bird corridor Brazoria County is home to
hundreds of bird species during the height of the yearly migration, and many
call Brazoria County home year round.

There are also many deer,
rabbits, bobcats, squirrels,
possums, raccoons, etc... and
also the occasional cougar.
Also there are many reptiles
and amphibians. You can find
many of these animals on our
many acres of wildlife refuges.


Check out our local beaches
and spend the day shell
hunting or go fishing on the
jetties at Surfside Beach.
There are many varities of
fish in this area. Go see the
aquarium at Sea Center

and you will see all the
different ecosystems from
salty marsh, to jetties, to deep
sea fish. You will also meet
Gordon a 250 pound grouper.
If you are into golfing there are many local courses open to the public.
You can also catch a play or concert at the Center Stages Theater or
stop by the Art Gallery and the Museum of Natural Science which
contains the largest shell collection in the south. If you are into history
you will discover old cemeteries, markers, plantaions and museums.
Varner-Hogg Plantation State Historical Park is a must see with
guided tours, interpretive trails, historic exhibits, picnicking sites and
more.

Houston, and 45- min West of Galveston.
